We now have a club house

Bye a land slide majority vote we now are going to adopt the Lawrence Drive Tavern Nerang as the home of the gold coast 8 ball association. Next season we will be playing solei out of the one venue

There are many issues that will arise as we leap forward with this new era in the association.

2/1/07   Our 1st Annual Christmas Cup pool comp was held 30th December was a huge success with 60 runners competing, many travelling down from Brisbane. Rusty was our winner  with Steve Woods from Canberra coming 2nd,  JJ 3rd and Brent Read 4th .

We had a great family atmosphere with Kids enjoying  the games ane videos in the games room and wife’s enjoying a drink and chat with the other “pool widows” the popcorn chips and nuts where appreciated and sausages and hot dogs on sale where snapped up quick “to quick” we will know next time MORE FOOD .

We had many comments from people, all good with 1 person saying “I can’t see why all associations can’t achieve this, its great”

Please come along and have a look if you haven’t already, the word is out that we have the best, family atmosphere venue in Queensland “or maybe Australia” BUT that is only what I’ve heard .you will have to see for your self.

11/12/06

We had a good turn out for our first open day at the club house with about 60 people coming through and having a hit on the table’s .There where family groups with wives and kids joining in the fun.

Many people enjoyed a free sausage that Harley cooked for them

There was a pool comp run latter in the arvo with Adam Luff not only winning the comp but having a very good win on the pokies down stairs.

Everyone was amazed with how good our club room looked

9/12/06

The tables arrived on Friday arvo and with the help of Dave Wass, Harley and a few of the locals we moved them all up stairs, J.R and Ray who had driven all the way from Melbourne, set them all up that night. Saturday morning Bob and Bryan finished off dropping the lights to the right level and brushed all the tables etc.

The tables are supplied by John Russell. From “Allstar Pool Tables” Melbourne after J.R being recommended by numerous state and national players

We have also made up solid tops for all the tables so we can use them for other functions like cards or dinners
