..We have been very busy in the off season ..

 

   Bye a land slide majority vote we now are going to adopt the Lawrence Drive Tavern Nerang as the home of the gold coast 8 ball association. This year we will be playing solei out of the club house

 

   There are many issues that will arise as we leap forward with this new era in the association.

ALL TEAMS MUST BE REGERSTERED BY 15TH FEB.

 

Club house will be open from 15th feb at 2pm daily

A grade Thursday           1ST NIGHT OF PLAY 1ST MARCH

B grade Wednesday       1ST NIGHT OF PLAY 28TH FEB

C grade Tuesday            1ST NIGHT OF PLAY 27TH FEB

Super 6 on Friday          1ST NIGHT OF PLAY 2ND MARCH

Discussion regarding, should we have our meetings every couple of months?

Majority agreed that we do need to have the meetings every month.

 

The Club house will be open from 2pm each day

Cost to hire the tables                   $5.00 per hour for members

                                      $10.00 per hour for non members

All money from hire of tables will go back into maintaining the tables

Annual General Meeting 2006

Opening:

Bryan Burnett called the AGM of the Gold Coast 8 Ball Association to order at 7.27pm on the 12th December 2006 at the Gold Coast 8 Ball Club House, Lawrence Dr Nerang.

Bob Wass read out the minutes of the last years AGM, which was moved by John Connor & seconded by Wayne Randall

 

Treasury Report:

The order of Reports of the Gold Coast 8 Ball Association was presented and read out by Rhonda Burnett, moved by Matthew Farrell & seconded by Melissa.

 

Greg Dingle asked, how much did the new pool tables cost for the Club House? And can I see a receipt?

Bob Wass answered, why do you always question us? Greg, it is all in the Treasury Report, please refer it.  But since you have such an interest they cost $2750.00 each, + all the accessories such as; the cue stands, the cues, the jiggers, the pool table covers etc.

 

Selection of new committee:

1.      Matthew Whykes took the floor and announced that all Committee Members will now stand down from their positions.

2.      Mathew stated that all nominations for a position on the executive committee had to be in 21 days before this AGM.

3.      Their were no nominations received for the executive committee

4.      President: Bryan Burnett was nominated and unopposed, subsequently being welcomed to the committee.

5.      Vice President: Bob Wass was nominated and unopposed, subsequently being welcomed to the committee.

6.      Treasurer: Rhonda Burnett was nominated and unopposed subsequently being welcomed to the committee.

7.      Secretary: Vanessa Semple was nominated and unopposed subsequently being welcomed to the committee.

 

Sub Committee:

1.      Matthew Whykes was nominated by Bryan Burnett & seconded by Brett Chalker

2.      David Wass was nominated by Bryan Burnett & seconded by Matthew Farrell

3.      Matthew Farrell was nominated by Vanessa Semple & seconded by Wayne Randall

4.      Mellissa Moore was nominated by Bob Wass & seconded by Bryan Burnett

5.      Brett Chalker was nominated by Matthew Whykes & seconded by Vanessa Semple

6.      Mick Green was nominated by Matthew Farrell & seconded by Bob Wass

General Business:

1.      Bryan thanked everyone for their help during the 2006 season

2.      Discussion regarding what nights each division will be playing on – to be determined at a later date, would like to get preferred days from the players (a meeting will need to be held to discuss this further)

3.      Opening hours for the Club House – The Club house will be open from 2.00pm each day, when the season starts

4.      Discussion regarding the Super 6 Pool Competition – to be determined at a later date, would like to ask players for their preferred day

5.      Bob Wass suggests that our Constitution needs to be written to suit the Gold Coast 8 Ball Association – With regards to the New Club House

6.      Cost of Hiring the Pool Tables at the Club House - $5.00 per hour for members & $10.00 per hour for non members

7.      Club / Team Shirts – Ryan suggests that he has a contact that can supply & print shirts up for the Players at a reasonable price  (around $20.00 per shirt) He will organise to bring samples to the next meeting

8.      Bob, Bryan & Rhonda will be delivering flyers to businesses in the area (Nerang Industrial Area) the flyers are for the purpose of advising people in the area of our Club House, and asking for any interested players to come and have a look and to see if they would like to join the Pool League.
